You will never forget the experience of 50 – 100 squirrel monkeys passing through the trees outside your treehouse, or crossing over one of our bridges. Many mornings you will be awakened by the mysterious sound of howler monkeys. You can also choose the river walk tour where some monkeys come to greet you, as it is one of the excursions included in the package. In that excursion, you will be able to see a great variety of species, such as Wooly and Coatis monkeys.

Piranhas are a fascinating and integral part of the ecosystems of the entire Amazon River. The Amazon is home to different types of Alligatoridae, also known as caimans. At Treehouse Lodge, we have an excursion that consists of navigating the river at night where you will be able to spot the white caiman and even grab it, without harming it, under the supervision of our guides.

7. Frogs

The Kambo Frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor) is one of the most special frog species you can find in the Peruvian jungle. We have seen it a few times in Treehouse Lodge, it looks small but it is a giant frog. It is difficult to see as it is usually in the treetops, but we know that they live in our area because of their noisy songs.
